The first Crumelurs® appeared in a hotel room in Stockholm in February 2019. I was “phone doodling,” as I usually do while talking on the phone. I was trying out some new pens, and suddenly, some Crumelurs, Dragon, and Ops! (see picture below) appeared. I was amazed. Since then, new Crumelurs seem to show up whenever I draw.
“An adventure every time.”
I never know what will happen, who will appear, or in what surroundings since they draw themselves, and my part is to hold the pens. It’s like going on an exciting journey of discovery and adventure every time. Pens, paper, and I become one when I set off on that trip.
“Popping up everywhere.”
I draw Crumelurs wherever I am, whether on a train journey, at the beach, or in a café. At home, they are also drawn in different places and then colored on the drawing board. They are drawn with black fine-liner pens on an A4 pad before I’m heading to the drawing board, and over 200 alcohol-based colored markers.

It is a recurring quote from those who meet my Crumelurs. It reflects the feeling I get when they appear on paper. No matter what mood I’m in when I sit down to draw, after a few minutes, I start to smile, and a feeling of pleasant amusement takes over my body and mind. Nowadays, I feel like a Crumeleur most of the time, a Crumelur entrepreneur who brings Crumelurs to the world and makes people smile and feel good.
